Bug-A-Roo Lamp.
The "Miracle Lamp"...unique!
$45.00 (plus $24 for shipping & handling)
I suspect that the "Bug-A-Roo" fell a little short of its advertised miracle status...I'm not even sure what miracle it was supposed to perform! In any event, this is certainly an unusual lamp. Finished in a beautifully rich transparent green glaze, it has an on/off dial mounted front-and-center, above which is a crown-motif that encompasses a small light. (actually a clear glass/plastic view-window that illuminates when turned on) A label on the reverse reads, Bug-a-roo The Miracle Lamp, Manufactured by Bug-A-Roo Inc., 3405 Main Street, Dallas, Texas. So what is this thing? Is it a TV lamp or some sort of variation on the Shell No-Pest Strip? The name, clearly inspired by its Texas origins (Bug-A-Roo, buckaroo...get it?), would suggest that it was intended to ward-off or kill insects, hardly a suitable device to place on the family television. Yet it's very nicely finished, and I can't imagine that it was designed for outdoor use. It still has the blue semi-opaque light bulb that was present when I found the lamp, and this mysterious bulb could play some part in the proposed miracle.
The condition is very good, with a couple of scratches to the glaze and some rust on the screw of the on/off dial. It is 8¾" tall and 5¼" wide. You need this lamp!
This lamp is sold under the condition that I am to be immediately notified in the event that an actual miracle should occur.
