Miramar of California was particularly fond of applying a deep green glaze to items that have a distinctive horizontal texture. As with this example, they sometimes cold-painted the textured area with pale yellow or, as seen here, a brilliant red. This planter/lamp is seated on a metal base that's done in an oriental style, another Miramar favorite. It has their marking on the bottom of the planter, but it was too faint to photograph. Condition is good, with a little loss of cold paint and a small amount of tarnishing on the plated base. It's rather large as planter/lamps go, at 6½" tall and 12½" wide.
