Maurice of California is certainly one of the less known of the many California potteries, and their TV lamps are few and far between. For a long time I had considered this swan to be "of unknown manufacturer", until one appeared on eBay that was attributed by the seller to Maurice. Upon closer inspection, I found the very faint marking that the seller had described. (too faint to photograph)
The TV lamp market was quite competetive, and everyone came out with a swan, but Maurice of California distinguished theirs with a pair of babies swimming along side and an unusually large planter. This example is in great condition, with a glossy black glaze, a generous application of 22k gold, and no chips, cracks or repairs.  She's a beauty!
